The five elements of Feng Shui are represented here. They can be represented by colour, shape and movement. Fire (red/orange) and water (blue/black) oppose each other and water can control fire. Finding the balance does create harmony, when there is too hot of a day, we can move towards a cool shade or to the lake to cool down. Yet when it is too cold and wet, we long for hot summer days. The balance of the two will create harmony!

This acrylic painting has lots of other media, such as ink, oil pastel, paper collage, acrylic mediums and gold leaf. Application was in thin washes and lots of glazing.
