Spring time is a time when we see our perennials start to pop up and small minor bulbs bloom. One of my favorite little tulips come up every year, to say hello and give me a little whisper that all will be well this year.  She is a welcomed site from every angle of the front porch, making visitors welcome and comfortable.

This painting is acrylic on 1.5" gallery canvas.  More than 8 layers of transparent paint was glazed on top of a red wash to achieve the translucency of the petals.  Soft brushwork was used throughout the painting.  Painting was based on my actual flower which blooms every spring!

Tulips are often associated with true love.  And for many it represents the onset of springtime.  They are timeless and playful, a perfect gift for that special someone in your life.  For me, seeing them bloom gives me so much comfort and a smile.  Knowing that spring is here and life has begun anew.
