Water produces wood, is part of the productive cycle of Feng Shui. Water's flow nourishes and stimulates growth of wood, just as rain enriches our forests and vegetation.  Water is needed for life. In this painting, there are the elements of water represented by the colour black  (deep water) and wavy brush marks and from it arises trees growing strong on land.

This piece has inks, graphite, acrylic paint and collage to make it a mixed media piece.   Molding paste was applied initially on the canvas and left to dry before painting.
